We’re celebrating Air Max Day by revitalising an icon. Pulling from the archives, the Air Max 1 ’86 tells one of Nike’s biggest stories: revealing Air to the world. But the lesser-known fact is that for the first few months of its release, the Air Max 1 featured a noticeably bigger window. So, like … why did the window shrink? We discovered an exposed Air unit tends to crack in cold temperatures, so Nike engineers had to adjust on the fly. We created a new Air unit and quietly “shrunk the window both in length and height”. Lucky for us, it’s not the ’80s any more. The bubble-bursting days of yesteryear stayed where they belong—firmly rooted in the past.

Drawing inspiration from the “Metallic Blue” colourway of the 1985 High Metallic Series, Air Jordan welcomes this iconic iteration of the Air Jordan 1 Low 85 sneaker into its latest line-up. The uppers have been reimagined in crisp white leather, complemented by shining hits of metallic blue on the Swoosh, heel, and tongue. Elsewhere, a slightly yellow sole gives them a vintage feel, finished off with the signature two-tone sole underfoot.

Dressed in a White, Metallic Gold, and Gum Light Brown color scheme. The sneaker starts off with a White leather base offset by the Metallic Gold accents landing on the collar, Swooshes, Wings logo, and Nike Air branding on the tongue labels. A White midsole and Gum Light Brown rubber outsole is also in play. Although simple in design, sometimes taking that subtle route works wonders on the Air Jordan 1.
